VTP Setup
I'm trying to figure out VTP, I know what its for and how it works. but the setup while I can get it to work I want to make sure that the setup that I am deploying it correct.
So I have a core switch, int f0/2 , f0/3 f0/4 f0/5 f0/6 f0/7 are config as switchport mode access. Each with its corresponding vlan.
so int f0/2 is switchport mode access
switchport access vlan 2
Port f0/24 on the core switch is a trunk port
all the vlans are created on the core switch
all is working correctly.
Here is my question:
After setting up VTP ( core is the Server )
the only way that I can get the updates to the distribution switch is if I create a trunk from the distribution switch back to the core switch/
Question??? Is this the correct way?
I ask because it uses a port that I may or may not need in the future?
Thank you all for your help
