You can always edit your Windows Hosts file and add that domain name to point to your IP address hosting your copy of x.com

located in /windows/drivers/etc/hosts it has examples in the file on how to enter the information.

That way whenever you try to browse to x.com from your PC it will always redirect to where you point it via the hosts file.

is this what you mean ?

if you have a local DNS Server in your network, you could also create x.com in there and point it to your local resources.

so long as the PC's that need to use your copy of x.com use that DNS server as their primary then that would work too.

Does X.com resolve to the correct IP address of the site from within your network?
