windows 10 update never updates

My machine is rebooting several times a day.

I have Windows10 version 1607 (OS Build 14393.693).

Update KB4013429 keeps failing for the past month, causing reboots a few times a day. I have tried disabling my firewall, my antivirus (Symantec) and manual updating and nothing works.

Symptoms: The installation works, then a reboot occurs, then the second part of the install starts and then a message comes up stating that "We couldn't complete the update, undoing changes", the a reboot again.

How can I remove this queued update and simply wait for the next cumulative update for windows? Or is there a solution out there? I have tried ever solution offered by Microsoft and some from "trusted" sources found via Google.

Nothing seems to work.

Go to below link open / save the Windows Update Troubleshooter, follow the steps in the wizard to find and fix problems with Windows Update.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10164/fix-windows-update-errors

Second suggestion:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/971058/how-do-i-reset-windows-update-components

My last suggestion:
You can do a Windows 10  Repair Install with an In-place Upgrade to fix that problem.
You will not lose any data files or Apps if you follow the Instructions.
Go to the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool from this link:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Click on download tools, save it on desktop,  then run it as Administrator, accept license agreement, then Choose Upgrade This PC Now, let Windows to Update drivers. make sure that Keep Personal Files and Apps  is Selected  and let the Windows do the rest.

Thank you, Ramin. in my case, I had tried all of the links that you suggested a few times in the past week with no success. Although others had found that solution to be viable, it did not work in my case. However, I did not attempt a repair reinstall. If the other solutions provided today by the other experts did not work, I would have attempted your final solution.

Thank you, Tahir for your suggestion. I had checked the event logs initially when this issue arose, however, your solution may work for others. The errors showing up in my case were deemed by Microsoft as non-starters.

John, your solution worked for me. Thank you!!!!!!! Patch Tuesday, hopefully will have the cumulative update that included the ones that I have hidden today. In fact, my machine is working much faster too!

Some points to note:

1.      I ran a reboot before running the hide updates because the reboot choice still had the need to run the second part of the Microsoft Windows KB4013429 update again. This cleared the sequencing.
2.      I had to run wushowhide.diagcab hide updates twice. The second attempt still insisted on two that I had originally checked to hide. On the third running of the hide updates tool, nothing showed.
3.      Then I rebooted. The reboot showed a clear reboot with no textural mentions after it
4.      My Internet connections needed to be reconnected (that was strange), but that was a no-brainer
5.      My machine is running faster (maybe that was simply psychological!)  <grin>
