Understanding UserAgent String

Hi,
On a Mac App i opened the console.. and typed : navigator.userAgent
The output is :
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_4) AppleWebKit/601.5.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_8_2) AppleWebKit/537.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/24.0.1309.0 Safari/537.17" = $1

What does this means  how do i interpret it ?
Also can i make my chrome have this user Agent... means can i change the userAgent of chrome to this  for testing purpose.. or any other way ?

Thanks
