windows 2008 installation hangs

Windows 2008 r2 instillation hangs on completing installation for last 2 hours.

hardware: dell t410

installation doing on virtual or physical?
if it is virtual re create the VM and assign sufficient resources while creating VM.

if it is physical make sure your server firmware is up-to-date.

It had windows 2008 on it . due to a virus I am re-installing the latest firmware is from 2011. and the update isn't bootable.

Best suggestion is use Hiren boot , Boot up your server using Hiren boot CD and wipe out Infected drives in the server and reboot the server and start install windows server 2008 freshly

I deleted the whole drive through the installation wizard. and re-created it.

there is no error it's just hangs there on completing installation ....

Try assembly work now :

Turn  off the server

Un plug and re plug the HArddisk cables in server

Un plug and re plug the RAM card in server, IF there are multiple RAM card's un plug all Plug one by one and do installation

remove the BIOS battery for some time and try installation
