We are trying to use dynamics crm 365 for our insurance agency broker company.
like we have agency(company), agent (1099 license agent), insurance carrier. and we are not sure
which crm default entities should be fitted above 3.

We understood we can customized by adding new one entity. but we just try to follow what crm already have so I hope I can find experts here know what to do.

thanks

Hi ITsolutionWizard,

This is a bit tricky area as it requires to have the full requirements at hand. Basically what you have to do is, check D365's Sales and Service app and see what entities and their attributes fit your requirements. For example, you can easily use Account/Contact entities and most of the Service entities. For a broker firm(Assuming you are taking care of both Sales and Service part) I think most of the OOB entities are enough.

You will create a custom entity in cases where the requirement/feature/functionality can not be met by OOB entity. Also if you have to use OOB entity but then you have to heavily customize the OOB entity to meet a particular requirement then you can take a call to use a custom entity.

Chinmay.

Hi ITsolutionWizard,

Alright. Tell me some of the requirements and I will be able to point out the entities you could use but do note that it is always best to map them with the actual requirements.

Regards,
Chinmay.

I am sorry but that is just not enough information. On high level agencies can be mapped to accounts, agents can be contacts, carrier can be mapped to account with an indicator to differentiate between an agency and a carrier.
HI,
Just help out what will be the core operations of your customer.
Are they into sales(like selling new policies), Service(customer service of existing policy holders where in they handle policy renewals, consumer complains, policy statement requests, entertaining fund values, etc) or is it that; being a broker firm, these 1099 agents bring in new business for different insurance providers through Campaigns/Leads or any other marketing channel.

We are broker firm and we hire license agent to do Buiz for us.
Ok.
  • So you want CRM to manage the hiring process or manage the business done by license agents.
  • Who will be the target customers?
  • Will you be selling insurance policies to the customers using CRM?
  • Or you will be servicing the policies for existing customers?
