I have a clean build of Hyper-V 2016 on a HP Microserver and I have given it a static IP address on my existing Windows domain and joined it to it. I can connect to it using Remote Desktop from my Windows PC so all seems OK there. <br />
I downloaded and installed &quot;Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 (SP1)&quot; and added Hyper-V Tools through Window Features.<br />
I now have a working Hyper-V Manager running on Windows 7 and have used it to connect to my new server &quot;MYHYPERV&quot; but the Hyper-V Manager reports &quot;The operation on computer 'MYHYPERV' failed&quot;<br />

How to manage Hyper-V 2016 from Windows 7 Pro

Hyper-V is a native hypervisor; it can create virtual machines on x86-64 systems and supersedes Windows Virtual PC as the hardware virtualization component of the client editions of Windows NT. A server computer running Hyper-V can be configured to expose individual virtual machines to one or more networks. Hyper-V Server supports remote access via Remote Desktop Connection.
