I was hoping that someone could clarify this for me.
I have a Xenapp 6 and Xenapp 7 farm that runs side by side using multiple published desktops. We have this config atm while we are migrating the business from the old to the new farm.
Users are assigned to published desktops and are usually assigned more than one to allow them access to multiple when logging in through the web interface from an external location. This is working as expected.
Internal access though, the users are logging in to a HP thin client using desktop lock where they automatically login to the desktop they are assigned once they enter their login credentials based on their access via AD groups.
The problem though is that it seems that access to the desktop is based on alphabetical order of the name of the published desktop. Also, the Xenapp 6 farm also seems to take preference in the order. That is, if they are members of both a XA6 desktop and a XA7 desktop, the first alphabetically ordered desktop from the XA6 farm is automatically logged in to. This does not work in all instances as we have users who require two desktops but it is the second desktop in the list that they require to be automatically logged in to first.
My question is, is it possible to assign a priority order for which the user will always get the desktop they need even if they are part of multiple and the order is incorrect? Example, i wast user A to login to the thin client and get desktop B from XA7 even though they are part of both desktop A in XA6 and desktop A in XA7 as well.
Ultimately, we will move away from the XA6 farm and have only XA7 so if it is only possible in either, please advise.
Thanks for your assistance
