Standalone windows 2012 srvr & shares

I have a windows 2012 server that requires users to connect via http for a 3rd party application.

right now, when two users connect concurrently, the application freezes. so to fix this, i had to create the users identical (same username and password) on the server.   isn't there a security policy on the server that would allow users to connect without having a unique user accounts on the server?

this is not an AD its a workgroup environtment.  don't want to go ad or add a domain yet. all these are in the coming plans.

please advise,

thanks,
mwauki

It should "just work". No, there's no such policy. You should talk to the manufacturer of the application - maybe it has a different reason.

It comes down to the configuration of your server and the application. Does your server have enough memory to support the number of users required? Do you meet all of the hardware requirements, etc. We could take guesses if you identified the application, but the manufacturer's support is your best option. AD is irrelevant to the issue you're having, based on what you're telling us.
