Java Club

Dear Sirs
Over the last 18months, I managed to learn Java SE by myself and with the support of this community, and build an ERP System that is being used in Africa (DRCongo).
I learnt in a very short time multiple Java technologies: Java SE, JSF, Servlets, Hibernate, Jasper Reports, RESTful web services.
My dream is to keep going and keep learning, and the only way to do that is to expose my knowledge by joining a Java club or volunter for a java project.
If anyone knows about a Java club or entity that is looking for volunteers for a specific Java project, please let me know.
I live in California

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

California's a big place, but I'd suggest going to a local "Java Users Group" meeting.

Here are some examples of JUGs in California:

https://www.meetup.com/sfjava/
https://www.meetup.com/Orange-County-Java-Users-Group-OCJUG/
https://www.meetup.com/CCalJUG/

They're a great way to connect with other local Java users and I'm sure some of them would have projects they are working on which could use some help.

The accepted answer is a great one.  If you're still looking, you might  check for non-profit or volunteer groups near you to see if they have a tech need.  Sometimes volunteer or non-profit groups need a simple web-based registration system, and you could offer to build one for them.
