Exchange 2010 Mail Queue Growing out of control.

Hi
Have an issue with an Exchange 2010 Mail.Que file growing in in size to approx 8Gb until the transport service crashes and it creates a queue.old folder.
Configuration is DAG with two DB Servers and a Single CAS / Transport server that also DB role installed.
After purging the Queue folder the mail.que file does not change for about 15 minutes then starts to grow very quickly, generates a heap of TRN files up to the point where it crashes.

Does not impact service, queues still processing mail up until the crash, server creates a new mail.que file and takes off again.

Cannot see why it is doing this, all 3 servers Enterprise License - Version: 14.03.0339.000.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Have been through that article, once the transport service is re-started the mail.que and TRN files start all over again,
