outlook 2016 calendaring

i received an email from a legal assistant who has owner rights to her boss' calendar.

please let me know if there is any way to provide me access to modify the category colors on my boss' calendars.  I would like to be able to rename the category colors without being on their computer.  It’s currently grayed out .

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You need to have editor rights to change the colors.

Owner rights should work. Do you have owner rights to the mailbox? Also check permissions on the calendar just in case.
