Can't send e-mail from Iphone

I have a user who sends and receives e-mail from their computer.  Their Iphone is tied to this account.   It is running as a POP3 on the Iphone.  They receive their mail fine, but when they try to send an e-mail, it sends but is never received.   The settings are exactly the same on the SMTP as the computer SMTP.   Any ideas?

The settings above that you show are for IMAP on my phone.

Look farther down (a long way down) there are Port and SSL settings you can use for POP.
Yes John Sir,

On this source brief assistance is given for both settings with clear pictures step by steps

Can the user send an email to his or her own email address?
Do you use certificates? Can other user use the same mail provider on their phones?
Just out of pure curiosity, why are you configuring devices with POP3 instead of IMAP?

MacGyver 80, when it was set to IMAP we were having trouble so we decided to try POP3 and it worked for a while.

So we tried to reset it back to IMAP like John Hurst and Joan Lewis discussed but we found it said "No SMTP Server set".  NOt sure why, it was set originally.  We set that and now it works great.  Thanks for the help.
You are very welcome and thanks for the update
