you don't have to create any new connectors for email between servers. All you need to do is to direct incoming mailflow from internet to exhcange 2016 and add 2016 server as a source server for send connector

You are correct! for incoming email from internal and external network all works fine, but when i configure relay for application servers it stopping both internal and external

The question is for internal SMTP relay from other reporting servers to relay on current exchange server.
we have different application servers configure to use our exchange server and send notifications to users.

Note: same relay connector has been configured on Exchange 2010 and 2016(in co-exist environment), i think it wont affect the traffic.

just make sure that the internal relay is limited to only the IP-addresses needing to send emails - and make sure that exchange server IPs aren't added to this relay connectors

For internal relay we have subnets (0.0.0.0/24 or 0.0.0.0/22) included current exchange server subset too.

But we have the same setting in MS Exchange 2010? do you think new setting in exchange 2016 should be different than 2010?
