Dell Vostro 3750 Core i7 Memory Question

My machine has 2 slots and I have read two different posts about people saying my machine can handle 8 gig of ram. Another says it can take 16 gig. I bought it with Win 7 Pro and upgraded to Windows 10 Pro. I am wondering if I can beef up this machine to handle some large DB crunching against a SQL Server DB and others.
Here is one post for 8g only

Here is another for 16g says it's okay...?

Someone said I could use 2 of these in the two slots I have.

or these...

Does anyone have any experience or know if it is safe to upgrade to 16..? Would that much memory do anything to the machine say overheating or would the extra ram actually keep things cooler because of the extra horses in there...? I am clueless what this might or might not do.

Great input so thank you. I will go for the 16 gig route as soon as I can find a good match for the memory cards. I will see if the temps change with an app I have that measures temp and other parameters. Then put in the new and test accordingly. If I lose battery life or if it gets hotter in there. thanks for all your help gentlemen.
