Hello Support,

I'm learning MS Azure and I'm now looking at how to configure Firewalls to work with Azure. However, I would like to know what is the most popular vendor that subscribers use with Azure e.g. Cisco, Palo Alto, Barracuda, CheckPoing, etc.

This is because I would prefer to learn a product that is often used by many companies when securing their cloud environment with Azure.

My initial research leads me to think that Barracuda is the market leader when it comes securing MS Azure deployments, however I will stand corrected

I appreciate that you may not be able to endorse any particular product, but if you could provide guidance on the most often used Firewall with Azure that would be great.

Thanks

Carlton

Hi Carlton,

Great question! I am not sure if you already looked at Network Security Groups (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-network/virtual-networks-create-nsg-arm-pportal) ? This feature enables you to control traffic without a specific firewall appliance. We use them often and we're using only firewall appliances such as Palo Alto in very specific situations, for example when also IDS/IPS functionality is needed.

Kind regards,

One of the more popular third-party firewall options in Azure is the Barracuda NG Firewall.

Another is Palo Alto VM Series available in Azure Marketplace

Thirdly is Sophos XG Firewall
