Windows 10 Group Policy ADMX

Last Modified: 2018-05-24
Our Domain Controller that has GPO on it is server 2008R2.  I have a few windows 10 workstations and Windows Server 2016 on our domain. I have downloaded and extracted the Windows 10 v1511 ADMX.  I know I am supposed to copy the files to the SYSVOL/PolicyDefinitions folder, but my questions are:

1. If I make a backup copy of the existing policy definitions folder then copy the windows 10 ADMX files to it (overwriting existing ones),Will everything that is currently configured for our environment still keep the same configuration, and it just gives us the Windows 10 options?

2. If it causes a problem can I just copy the files from the backed up Policy Definition folder back into the existing Policy Definitions folder. Will it restore the settings and environment back to the way it was before I copied the windows 10 files?

Windows 10 v1511 ADMX is only TEMPLATE. Doesn't contain any definition or settings. ADMX file are only to get access to specific settings in Policy. SO YES you can copy file and nothing will be overwritten.

This worked perfectly.
