Sent items from a Generic Mailbox go into Sent Items from users' Mailbox

it was not possible to find the settings so that emails sent from a generic mailbox are saved into the sent items of the generic mailbox as opposed to being saved into the sent items of the user’s mailbox… Which means that the user will have to drag sent items from her mailbox in to the sent items of the generic mailbox when this was automated before. We simply created a new Outlook MAPI profile and added the user's mailbox and generic mailboxes and finds ourselves with this problem.

Many thanks for your help,

Please see attached and configure your generic mailbox accordingly.

The ‘Sent Items’ are saved in the sender’s personal mailbox by default. You can adjust this setting in Outlook Web Access (OWA) (log in via exchange.eur.nl) under ‘Settings/Sent Items’.

Hello Vikas Bhat,
Thank you for your help on this. The OWA from NHS does not provide the same features as detailed on your pdf document so the test failed through given that I was unable to implement your advised changes for this problem,
I thought something could be done on Outlook to make the changes for the sent items to be saved automatically inside the Sent Item of the Generic Mailbox

Hello Vikas Bhat,

Sorry, that did not work. The changes would have been applied to the user's mailbox and not the generic mailbox
When I tested we selected the "from" for generic mailbox and sent a test email... it went straight to the sent items of the user's mailbox

many thanks for your help,

Trevor
I think the profile may be corrupted. Have you tried creating a new profile and add this generic mailbox?
yes we did that twice already,  and we also created a new windows profile...
Well in this case I strongly suspect that you make by mistake have changed the sent items settings on generic mailbox in outlook. draft a new email using generic mailbox and check the setting in options tab.

Hello Vikas Bhat,

The following fixed the problem, found at https://support.microsoft.com/en-nz/help/2843677/messages-sent-from-a-shared-mailbox-aren-t-saved-to-the-sent-items-folder-of-the-shared-mailbox-in-outlook

Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\x.0\Outlook\Preferences
Note The x.0 placeholder represents your version of Office (16.0 = Office 2016, 15.0 = Office 2013, 14.0 = Office 2010).
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
Type DelegateSentItemsStyle, and then press Enter.
Right-click DelegateSentItemsStyle, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
Exit Registry Editor.

Many thanks for your help,

Trevor
