Well, if it were windows I'd open up task manager or for history, I'd run perf mon. So something like that. I need to know if I need to increase the CPU, RAM, SWAP, Disk, etc.

Vmstat, top, iostat, (memory, process/taskmgr like, drive/network stats) some of the commands,
Cacti is a graphical tool that would poll the system using snmp and render the results when needed.

CPU, process, memory, network use aggregate in/out, ......

you can get good information about your installation by using mysql tuner (should be available in the RedHat EPEL-Repos) or here:
https://github.com/major/MySQLTuner-perl

for status monitoring take a look at "mytop".
