Scheduled restart not working for Windows 10

I had this question after viewing Windows 10 Update GPO Settings.

We have our Windows 10 machines set to Auto download and schedule the install for 3am.  The UpdateOrchestrator in Task Scheduler shows that the tasks complete every night but the machine never restarts.  We've tried to setting the Configure auto-restart reminder notifications for updates so at least the users would know that updates have been installed and needs an reboot but this too doesn't work.  Can someone point me in the right direction of how to get Windows 10 updates to work correctly?

Check you GPO in Computer Configuration / Policies / Administrative .... /Windows Components / Windows Updates

Always automatically Restart at Scheduled time is ON

We do not want to automatically restart if the user is logged in because they will lose their work.  In Windows 7 we were able to set it to schedule a restart every night and if the user was logged in it would get pushed to the next night.  We would also get alerts saying that an update has been installed and needs a restart.  In Windows 10 it doesn't matter if I'm logged in or not the machine will not restart and we don't receive any notification that updates have been installed and the computer needs to be restarted.  Attached are the settings we have set in GP.

So there is another settings few lines down.
NO AUTORESTART WITH LOGGED USERS

and you have this enabled.
You should enable option I've mentioned before

I enabled that option to Always automatically restart at the scheduled time and was logged out of the computer and still it did not restart

It's going to restart after updates if updates will require restart.

It has all changed with win8 and is easily googled. There will be no more restarts at defined times unless you use enforcements (enforce deadlines at the WSUS).

I imaged a new machine yesterday and had updates installed.  I was logged out of the machine and it was supposed to restart at 3am.  Again the machine just sat there and didn't restart.   Attached you can see my RSOP results as well as Windows Update showing it needs a restart.

I guess I already wrote why that is and what to do about it.

We have Delay Restart for scheduled installations set to 2 minutes.  Attached are the GPResults. Thanks for your help.

I am not talking about GPOs. At the WSUS, when you approve updates, you can at the same time add a deadline date. That will enforce installations - no other measure will do anymore - the "normal" behavior changed with windows 8 and win10 is no better.

Sorry here is a better GPResults file

If we set a deadline date in WSUS will it still follow the settings that if a user is logged in the computer will not restart?

I don't know what policy you've set for WSUS because you have a lot of it but I see one WSUS denied

        WSUS_Deploy
            Filtering:  Denied (Security)

I don't know, maybe  McKnife has right. I did not found information that dis settings is not working in GPO anymore.

Deadlines will restart immediately, that's a small risk. So only set deadlines to a few days in the future and let people know that deadlines are in use. People will see that updates are available and they can install. Only if they ignore that, will the deadlines be needed.

WSUS_Deploy is one of the groups we have set for WSUS.  We have Pilot, Test, Deploy, and Sandbox.  We can't have computers restarting and users losing their work.  I have opened a ticket with Microsoft.

Thanks I'll look into it.  Do you know if these were the templates that were released on 1/8/2017?  Or have they not been released yet?

The templates are not out, yet, as far as I can see. Maybe you can google a preview version, but I wouldn't use it. To use them, install the creator's update of win10, install RSAT and use the GPMC on win10.
