If it's not personal attach one, we won't abuse the privilege but maybe easier for us to test it.
Is it too large?
What size is it?
In the folder where the images are kept, keep that open now go to the top left Explorer panel,   look on the address bar coloured one,
See ORGANISE> expand to layout>click preview pane
Now hover your mouse over an image do you see a preview? on the right?
There is line dividing the files from the preview that can be dragged to the left, as you drag it to the left the preview gets larger. If you can see it in the preview use your snipping tool to grab a screenshot of it.
The file I looked at was 9k. Unable to parse using Adobe CC 2017 (Photoshop) and a number of image viewers.
Oracle Autovue reports unrecognized format.

Asked when the last time the file was viewable.
Are there backups or Shadow copies from prior to corruption.

Try to convert the format with some converting softwares and check if it works.
Hi Sorry,
I saw information were there, it was working two years before.
Does the preview work?
To your knowledge has the extension been changed?
2 years ago was this on the same system?
Did you get it from another system?
The reason I ask is computers have changed over time and somethings that may have been copied or sourced off the internet may now need a different approach/or be missing bits.
From many years in this business a question may start off in one direction but when I dig it usually ends up being very different
Is this a map by any chance?
Was it created in any software from a map or GPS?

Let me take a moment to share with you about the BMP/
This BMP /bitmap, may have been intended for offline use,
When you look at specs of a BMP format stores color data for each pixel in the image without any compression.
For example, a 10x10 pixel BMP image will include color data for 100 pixels.
This method of storing image information allows for crisp, high-quality graphics, but also produces large file sizes.
The JPEG and GIF formats are also bitmaps, but use image compression algorithms that can significantly decrease their file size.
For this reason, JPEG and GIF images are used on the Web, while BMP images are often used for printable images.
The BMP format is a commonly used raster graphic format for saving image files.

And that leads me to think that maybe the software that created these BMP is nolonger on this system?
So to offer an idea.
This program " rockware" is used to open a raster images into a viewing window, and offer tools for resizing, sharpening, rotating, and resaving or saving to a different file format. This tool supports BMP, JPG, EMF and WMF, PCX, PNG, TGA, and TIFF formats.

Hello Rajkumar

Looking at the screenshot of the error message in Windows Photo Viewer that you attached to your question:

Are the BMP files very large in file size?

Were they originally created in another operating system such as Linux or Mac?

What program was originally used to create them?

Make a copy of one and rename it, changing the extension to *.TXT instead of *.BMP.  Double-click to open it in Windows Notepad.  Do you see   BM   at the very start of the file?

Would it be possible to attach an example BMP file here for us to see?
I have seen this when you rename a JPG to a BMP file. If this does not resolve it, please post file
