IE Shortcut - How to open in MAXIMIZED size

Here's a shortcut to a site I have on the desktop.
How can I have this open maximized size?
It's currently opening in a smaller-than-full-size.

Right click on the Shortcut, select Properties, Shortcut tab and then set to open maximized. That should work.

IE Shortcut
There are TWO types of shortcuts for web pages...
1) URL shortcuts
2) IE shortcuts that reference URLs

You need to use the SECOND type, as the 1st type will not have options you need!

In the properties:
1) Specify the URL AFTER the access to IE (as a parameter)
2) In the WINDOW type select MAXIMIZED

For reference, here is a PROPERTY view of a URL shortcut...

Open the IE and size the window to your liking.  Then hold down the CTRL key while clicking the “X” to close the program.  This will set the IE window to open at this setting every time.
Open any desktop shortcut, then open the same shortcut in a new window. Close the first window, resize the second window with the mouse to full screen, then hold your "Control" key down while exiting the resized window via "file" then "exit." Be certain to hold the control key down until the screen has exited. Next time you open any shortcut, it will open maximized.

Try this easy method and check if it solve the case.

  • Open a webpage. Stretch it out to full size. Don't select maximize button.
  • Choose any link on that webpage and right click on it and select open in a new window.
  • Stretch that second window out to the desired size, Don't select maximize button.
  • Close the first IE window. Then close that second resized window.

now retest.
