Disk clean up on Server 2012 R2

Hi

I'd like some "expert" guidance to help me create space on the C drive of a 2012 Server R2.

It is an important database server, so just wanted to run it by the experts before I mess around with it.

I have 0.5GB of free space on the C drive. Which is 40GB. The winsys folder is about 8-9GB... is there a quick way I can get some free space back to tide me over. I will expand the volume at a later date but am hoping for quick solution to buy me some time?

If it makes any difference it is a virtual machine.

Completely agree with John, 40 GB is way too small.  My C: drives are 120.

IS this a VM?

Have you moved the pagefile off the C: drive?  Look at user profiles and downloads within them (maybe you have a downloaded SQL service pack you didn't delete?)
Either way works so it is not necessary to run without Desktop Experience. You can use either way.
