Outlook - Windows to Mac

I'm hoping that in order to move mail and contacts from a PC to a Mac, all i need to do is copy .pst files. Is that correct?

Transfer the .pst file to your Macintosh computer.

On the Outlook for Mac File menu, click Import.

Click Outlook Data File, and then click the right arrow.

Select Outlook for Windows Data File, and then click the right arrow.

Locate the data file on your computer, and then click Import.

When the import process is complete, click Done.

The imported items appear in the navigation pane under On My Computer.

OK thanks. What i don't want to happen is to be left with extra folders in Outlook, as a result. I want just the default folders, as if (e.g.) the default empty contacts had been filled in the normal course of things. WILL that happen?

You can export the outlook file in the same structure
That looks promising. So that will replace the original ('empty') Mac Outlook folders when imported?
Your help has saved me hundreds of hours of internet surfing.

No, You cannot directly import PST files into Apple Mail.

But one thing i can suggest that you can migrate those PST files onto MBOX very easily then you can use them in Apple Mail.

OK. Looks like this installation of Mac Office is broken wrt Outlook - you can't add new accounts and the software won't update. So a Mac Mail question will follow
