Email in Outlook sent items folder missing, but a "search" of all folders finds them (in the sent items folder). How can that be?

I printed a few e-mails yesterday from my sent items folder.

Today, there are no e-mails in my sent items folder.  I did not delete them.  I did not archive them.  When I click on my sent items folder, nothing appears.

When I do a search of all folders, for the term "Agreement", the search results finds all the e-mails, and says they are in the Sent items folder.  When i double click on the e-mail, it opens up just fine.

Why can't I see the e-mails that the search results say, is located in my sent items folder?

Edward & Tom, I re-examined the Sent folder. In View Advanced, the setting for Filter is OFF.

I have discovered what happened.

The default archive setting for my Outlook account, is set to "Run Auto Archive every 1 day".

Yesterday afternoon, I added a pst file "HR.pst" to my Outlook so that I could search for "Agreement".  I could see all the items in the sent items folder that related to "Agreement".

Unknowingly to me, "auto archive" automatically archived items in the "sent" folder of the "HR.pst" file, moving them to the "sent" items folder in "archive.pst".  No other folders from the hr.pst file were archived, only the "sent" folder.

I apologize for not providing additional information.  Both of you were correct in your solution.

I had to choose a "best" solution to award points to both Tom and Edward.  But to me, both of you were equally correct.
Thank You.
If there is only one assisted solution then we both get equal amount of points. So don't worry :)
