How do I reinstall my OSX on my macbook?
I bought a refurbished macbook from Apple a few years ago and after some troubleshooting I've not had any luck resolving my problems long term.

I'm finally at a point where I just want to reinstall the OSX from scratch and see if that improves anything. I have a 16GB flash drive. How do I get started?
I do not have an install dvd.

I chose to reinstall a copy of a new macOS. Shift-Option-Command-R. I'll cross my fingers this sleep awake failure is fixed.
Thank you.
