UPS plugged into Surge Protector

Is it ok to plug my UPS into my surge protector?  Any electrical engineers out there?

I have the following UPS: APC BR1500G
(http://www.apc.com/shop/us/en/products/APC-Power-Saving-Back-UPS-Pro-1500/P-BR1500G)

And the following Surge Protector: Tripp Lite HD10DBS
 (https://www.tripplite.com/isobar-10-outlet-home-business-theater-surge-protector-8-ft-cord-3840-joules~HT10DBS/)

I'm not trying to "daisy chain" extension cords here, but trying to protect my UPS from Surges.  Unfortunately the built in Surge protection on the UPS isn't stellar.

Thanks

I meantioned that in my original post, the UPS has built-in surge protection but very weak.  Are you saying that the Tripp Lite surge protector will not work, or that the UPS surge protector will not work when plugged into the Tripp Lite?  If the latter, I think that's fine given that the voltage surge will be arrested in the Tripp Lite thus not requiring suppression from the UPS.  But I do understand what you're saying
The external surge suppressor will only work if Surge Suppression in the UPS is inadequate. As the first answer suggests, there is not harm in adding on. Thanks.
