I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Is this the first time you are logging into this particular server?
Are you attempting to log in via local user credentials (account on the machine itself) or domain credentials?
Which version of the client RDP software are you using?  (What are you coming from?)
(Do you have the option of connecting to the console?  If so, is that successful?)

Try logging in without RDP. I would bet that your password is expired. Another approach is to try turning off Network Level Authentication and see if that helps any.
