Exchange 2016 Hybrid Server Specs and Roles
I am to determine the required specifications for a server only hosting an Exchange 2016 Hybrid server. I am using the free Exchange 2016 license that comes with Office 365 so that I can have a hybrid environment. I plan on doing the absolute bare minimum for this deployment so that all I can do is manage user accounts which I make changes to about once a month.
I am hosting my Exchange server in Azure to mitigate my on premises requirement and leverage Azure for availability, uptime, and migrate on prem roles.
Does anyone have any advice to try and pare down Exchange services to minimize the server specs which will hopefully lower the server size in Azure. Since this Exchange Server will do nothing other than rare user management, do I need services like noderunner.exe to run all of the time? Are there any other services that could be disables to lower the server requirements?
Currently I have it running on a DS3_v2 instance and leave it powered off until I need to do user management. Which I would like to leave on longer term or resize to a smaller instance for when it needs to be powered on.
Thanks!
