Create an email address to send notifications
We wish to send email notifications, mainly from a couple of our backup software to notify us when the backup is finished, warning etc. Should we create a new Exchange server user/mailbox to send from? Problem with this is that anyone that has access to the backup software on the server/PC can view the pw of this "sent from" user. Wasn't sure if there are other options someone here can suggest. Thanks.

Thanks but isn't this designed more for sending emails from devices? We're sending notifications from several clients outside of our office.

I am not sure what Exchange server you have and so here is the instruction for Exchange 2010: http://techgenix.com/managing-receive-connectors-part1/
