Windows 10 desktop constantly refreshes after replacing to SSD

Hello, I have an older HP laptop G7-340us.  It originally came with Windows 7. The owner of the laptop upgraded to Windows 10.  I am replacing the hard drive with a Solid State.  Once I changed to the solid state the desktop constantly refreshes and I cannot get it to stop.

I was able to update the BIOS.
Started up in Safe mode and it still refreshes in safe mode.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

From HP Support, find the Video and Chipset drivers. Upgrade or at least reinstall both Video and Chipset. You may not have updated or installed Chipset when you replaced the drive.

Reinstall both and restart.

Do you mean HP G71-340US Notebook PC ?

HP, doesn't provide any drivers for this laptop in Windows 10.
the best Idea is to use Window 7 on this Machine.
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.

You can ask HP Support about upgrading to Windows 10.

If there are no drivers. then yes, revert to Windows 7

The error in display flashing is likely now showing because of the additional speed of the SSD.

Ok, I have "reset" systems from Winodws 10 back to Windows 7 within the 30 day period.  Is there an easy way after a long extended time?

I am going to try updating the chipset and video first.

Is there an easy way after a long extended time?  <-- No. After 30 days has elapsed, you must install Windows 7 fresh.

HP didn't even provide Windows 8 drivers for this laptop so you will have problems with Windows 10.
and as mentioned above After the 30 day period your OEM license will not work anymore.

Also try Start by doing a complete virus/malware scan.

It is very rare to have driver problems at all since even when the manufacturer offers none, windows ten will have most built-in or auto-download them from Microsoft update. I have seen so many old machines without the slightest problems.

Did the Windows 10 work well with no issue on your machine before replacing SSD with HDD ?

The system appears to work well with the old HDD.  I am performing the clone of the hard drive again.

I cloned the drive again and it worked. The first time I did it I had the SSD connected via USB.  The second time I had the SSD in the laptop.
