It could be something corrupt. No way to know until the do a system restore. Reboot hit F8 go to safe mode and see if you can get in a do a system restore or just select the last know good configuration.

if you have any bootable Hardware diagnostic CD/DVD to check the Hard Disk and RAM it is the best time to use it.
