Nee dhelp identifying the OS and how to access

We are running Oralce Vm virtualbox. I believe we are running Ubuntu as a VM but not sure. I have attached a screenshot of the screen. The Server is being used ot host a web site and need to change a logo. If Ubuntu, how do I access the drive? Any way to launch a more friendly interface that allows the use of a mouse to access files?

Thank you. yes, the VM says it is Ubuntu. Why am i seeing only a command prompt and not a more friendlier GUI? How can I access and change files?

I am unclear what you are asking. Uname -a the output of which will help identify the OS on the system
In /etc there should be a release file which will also indicate the OS.

What change file are you looking for?
/var/log is likely where aptitude/apt-get

A friendlier GUI based interface is comparably consumes more resources for the GUI part.
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.

Serialband, how can I change this "init mode" to give me a more friendlier GUI?
