Why won't VMWare workstation Pro 12.5 boot from my ISO to install Windows 10?

I have an ISO file, not a CD, not a disc of any kind. I can browse to the ISO file and create the VM just fine. However when I power it on, it completely ignores the ISO and just states No OS found! I created this ISO with Alcohol 120 by copying the install files from a working bootable flash drive into it. Why won't it work?

You have checked, that the Virtual Machine is set in he BIOS of the VM, to BOOT from a CDROM drive.

The ISO is connected, and set to connect at power on.

it may also be worth checking your ISO, is BOOTABLE...

see my EE Article for guidance

Part 3: HOW TO: Create an ISO CD-ROM/DVD-ROM image (*.iso), and MD5 checksum signature, for use with VMware vSphere Hypervisor 5.1 (ESXi 5.1)

Part 7: HOW TO: Create your first Windows Virtual Machine on a VMware vSphere Hypervisor 5.1 (ESXi 5.1) Host Server

Search for Magic ISO.

Did you have the VM set to connect using ISO image?

Thank you Andrew! That IMGBurn app along with your instructions worked perfectly to make the bootable ISO! I was able to TRY and install the Windows 10 company specific image in VMWare now.  However, The image I have tells me the machine is not compatible with the version of the Windows 10 company image I am trying to install. The company I work for has their own edited image of Windows 10. It has specific company applications and group policies in it. So now I need to figure our how to get past the system check either in the image or tell VMware how to project the right machine make and model! But you did help me get one step further. Thanks again! I learned a lot from your reply Andrew!
