"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

it's a lengthy process and takes timing...

basically you need 2 videos - one of the slides and the other of you narrating (in which the frame size needs to be a lot smaller).

for this you will need a Screen Session Recorder - some suggestions can be found here: http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-screen-session-recorder.htm

then you have to make sure that the narration is in sync with the slides.

the final step is to overlay the narration video on top of the PowerPoint video.

this step requires a video editor: I use a paid version of AVS4YOU Video Editor, but here is a list of free software from Gizmos Freeware:

One software that can do that is Camtasia:

You can record the screen and later you can process that recording by adding another video inside or narration or comments or zoom.
Or you may try some free alternatives:

After you recorded the screen with one of the above and you recorded your narration with a webcam, then you may edit, overlay with one of the next software:
