Can disemployment insurance policies force you to do any work?
Hi
When my brother was at Microsoft, he chose their catastrophic accident ( he had a head injury, car accident) policy that provides disemployment payments of most of his starter-salary until he is 65 years old. ( $60,000 )
With a head injury, he cant fully code anymore. If he wants to work again, even though he cant reliably code - he gets exhausted, does he have to forfeit the insurance payments?
Under what circumstances will they cancel the insurance payments? Is he allowed to do any work? Will they see ability to do menial work as a basis for cancelling the insurance? What should we know?
Thanks
