I'm using Symantec Backup Exec 2014 for backup all my server and virtual machines.
All is working the way it supposed to. I have 4 backup jobs.
2 Full backups to tape on each Friday (one for regular servers and after that one for virtual machines) on same tape
2 Incremental everyday backup to NAS (one for regular servers and after that one for virtual machines)

I was able to recover date many times from NAS and from TAPE and I did recover whole server with iSCSI drive from scratch for test only.

Backup Exec can backup NAS drive so iSCSI is not problem since server has direct access to this disk and BE is using VSS technology and Windows authentication method to access data.

You can download Backup Exec 2016 trial for test
