We have installed Team Foundations Server 2015.  When connecting to Team Foundations Server, I am able to connect to the Team Foundations Server through Visual Studios 2012 on my desktop, but unable to create a new project.  Permissions are set correctly.  I get the attached error message.  Please let me know if you need more information that I can provide.
Thanks in advance!

Operating System  - Windows Server 2012 R2

What version of TFS are you using?  You mentioned you installed 2015 but you then indicated 2017 with your server specs?

The error indicates that your VS2012 may also be the issue.  TFS2015 supports VS2012 but the latest updates need to be installed.

2. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30656 - make sure your Team Explorer is current.

From the requirements page:
Requires latest Visual Studio 2012 update. Supports Git with Visual Studio Tools for Git extension.

I installed Team Foundations 2012, rather than 2015.  All works as expected with 2012.  Thank you
