The old cameras are likely analog while your new DVR is looking for digital signal.<br />
Possibly, but the indication points to no signal is being received.<br />

Do your cameras appear to be powered on? It's either going to be that or a compatibility issue, but I'd definitely check the power to the cameras first. Check for noise from the unofficial power supply or any other strange signs.

Okay according to my checks, they have two input types. <br />

Old DVR Inputs - 16CH BNC<br />
New DVR Input - 16 Composite video<br />
<br />

Completely different yeah?
