SQL 2014 missing dll from Bin?

Hello,

For no reason, I'm getting an error "Could not find file 'SqlAccess.dll" in directory 'C:\ClusterStorage\Volume5....\bin

Anyway I can just add this dll back into the bin and get running again or do I have to register it or other precaution?

I've had a similar error before and it was to do with the .dll file having corrupted for some reason. Replacing the .dll with a fresh copy rectified the error.

So yes, give adding the dll back (extract it from your original installation media if need be) into the bin and see if that resolves the problem for you. Shouldn't be any harm in trying this simple test at all and it could save you a lot of trouble shooting time.

ASKER

Yup that did the trick, just hope that a reboot, update or somethng won't make it act funny.

I'll look into McAfee, it's the only thing I can see deleting files. Either that or when I uninstalled the web console.
