SQL Instance service gone?

Good morning Belgium time,

We noticed we had a SQL Server instance on a CSV go down. Reset the password but it will not start. It shows up in cluadmin and services on that node except when using sc query. SC Query shows all other instances but this one is gone on every node we checked. Is this corruption of the service and if so, would it be possible to create that service manually via sc commands to get it back?

Thanks again

/k

From what I heard, a lun was down at the time.

Since you brought it up, our SQL patch levels are the same, however, our Operating System patch levels are from hotfix 169 to 200 and everything in between over 6 nodes. What issues can this cause in your experience?

LUN down at the time, what was done? Did someone reran sql setup?
The service would not go away/delete unless someone misread the situation and tried to reinitialize/recreate the service using cluadmin...

Has the issue with the LUN/s resolved?
Is the application in cluadmin reflects its state as offline?
