Password recovery or reset Windows 10 home Premium
I have a Lenovo Windows 10 home premium laptop, and recently none of my passwords work to log back in.
How can I recover my password. ?
1. I have tried boot disk utilities - they do not work, the computer by passes the boot CD or usb.
pcunlock - does not work.
2. I can however remove the hard drive and connect it to another computer. - I am backing up data.
3. Is there a way to find the Windows 10 password file and reset password from there. ?
UUkeys Windows Password Recovery is a good solution for resetting forgotten Windows administrator or user password. The software not only helps you to recover the password but at the same time it also allows you to create a new administrator account.
This software also claims to work with all the popular brands like Dell, HP, Lenovo, Toshiba etc. But call support to make sure.
The program works on Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7/ Vista/ XP and Windows Server.
See if you can restart the computer after it is already on. The purpose of this is to slow down the start up sequence.
Have a bootable USB key or bootable CD in place, and then during the restart press F12 several times to see if you can bring up the boot menu. From there, you may be able to reset the main password.
I use the lazesoft recovery DVD for resetting forgotten passwords. It works on local accounts only. Its free and it has other tools to help resolve windows boot up issues. See: http://www.lazesoft.com/lazesoft-recovery-suite-free.html
I revisited the Windows 10 pc unlocker tool. The problem on my laptop was - I had to change BIOS settings from UEFI to Legacy in the boot tab of the bios. I then booted from my CD and in about 2 min my account was unlocked.
Saved me a lot of time.

In my description I said I can not login. I needed a way to enter into.
It's possible that you're using the Standard or Pro edition that doesn't support UEFI boot.
In that case, you might have to temporarily change the boot mode to Legacy or CSM compatible mode, and disable Secure Boot: https://neosmart.net/wiki/enable-legacy-boot-mode/
