ODBC settings not showng in FileMaker External Data Sources

Last Modified: 2017-04-16
We have FileMaker Server v13 and FM Pro 13 clients, we are moving databases to new SQL Server 2008 SP4  running on Server 2012 R2 (from SQL 2008 SP3 running on Server 2008). When in FM Pro External Data Sources trying to add an existing ODBC connection to SQL Server DB, it's not there. Any ideas why? It's a big deal since it's a critical connection to another DB

Thanks!

screenshots of odbc config needed...

go to odbc settings, click system dsn, click add
you should see sql client and odbc sql client drivers there...
add a system dsn then use your app to connect to sql

The ODBC setting have been created already, they just don't show in FileMaker under Manage External Data Sources. Is it because of the version of windows server I'm running which is 2012 r2?

go to this folder

The 32-bit version of the Odbcad32.exe file is located in the %systemdrive%\Windows\SysWoW64 folder and run it...
set up a DSN here and check your app...

more info here about 32/64 bit of ODBC. It says no workaround unless you suffix them _32 or _64 to distinguish which one is what version...

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/942976/odbc-administrator-tool-displays-both-the-32-bit-and-the-64-bit-user-dsns-in-a-64-bit-version-of-windows

setting up as 64bit allowed FM to see them
