john, when trying to install the link you gave me, it begins the install and then basically says that it the driver is not compatible with the hardware....ie, wrong driver. &nbsp; Interestingly, I uninstalled the driver from the Device manager and then did a restart. &nbsp;It pulls in a high res driver (i'm guessing from the W7 depository of drivers), displays the desktop correctly but within seconds, it goes to a BSOD. &nbsp; I think we have either an incorrect driver or a bad video card. &nbsp;This is a nephew of mine that is remote to me. &nbsp;I've asked him to pull the video card out of the desktop to get as much info off of the card as he can see and then we can look again for a driver. &nbsp;I'm beginning to think that this is a bad card. &nbsp;Your opinion?

This is a previously working installation. &nbsp;I've never heard of using &quot;V&quot; as a way to bring in basic video drivers. &nbsp;Since we are using Safe Mode with Networking, and are able to get to the desktop (low resolution) via Safe Mode, I assume that the system has brought in basic video drivers.

Restart Windows and just before the Windows logo appears &nbsp;press and Hold f8 Key on Keyboard. If you missed, restart it again.<br />

I check the dmp file, the reason of crash is only your Display Driver.<br />

You can increase TDR time in registry to prevent this happen again, but if there is any new update driver for that card, it's better to Upgrade the driver.

We have tried two different system restore points. &nbsp; The first time we did it, it appeared to work OK for several hours and then went to BSOD while just watching a YouTube video. &nbsp;The second time, it seemed to be OK for a minute or so then the BSOD. &nbsp; We can certainly do another restore. &nbsp;I do have a windows image stored which is about 2+ years old. &nbsp;I was thinking of trying that next. &nbsp; Is the DMP telling you anything?

This sounds like an interesting idea. &nbsp; Will try in a bit but it will be about 2 hours or so from now. &nbsp; As a backup, I just ordered a $30 PCI express card from Amazon. &nbsp;If your registry idea doesn't work, I think it will be the next step. &nbsp;<br />

Also, forgot to mention that this card has two DVI ports. &nbsp;The monitor is &nbsp;VGA and there is a converter plug used to attach the VGA cable to the DVI port on the PCI card. &nbsp;We checked to be sure that all cables and adapters are snug and tight. &nbsp;We also swapped input ports but got the same result.
