External Company cannot send E-mails to our users using one of their applications they use to distribute, and send E-mails.

Hello Experts. We have Exchange 2010 Standard in our Environment. one of companies cannot send us E-mails using the application they use to distribute E-mails to groups. Users individually from that company can send us E-mails no problem, but when they do it through their application, it does not come through to us, does not show anywhere on or E-mail gateway, and they receive the attached bounce back. Please assist in troubleshooting and resolving this issue. Thanks in advance.

Hi

For my understanding the other party is sending mail externally to your internal distribution groups?

The E-mails would be coming in individually. I assume the client company has a distribution group that our E-mails are added to. thanks

Than I agree with savvy, check the receive connectors logs.

Hello, we have a specific receive connector setup for this external company, so their E-mail is not going to our Mail Firewall/ gateway, it is coming straight to our server...basically treated as internal E-mail. I enabled verbos logging on that receive connector, and asked the company to send an E-mail using their tool that they use...and nothing. nowhere in the log do i see an entry of the E-mail address the tool uses. Am I looking in the right place...this is where i found the log (\Exchange Server\V14\TransportRoles\Logs\ProtocolLog\SmtpReceive), will the custom receive connector we have created also dump its logs in this location? please let me know. Thank you.
Patrick Bogers

Hi

All the recieve connectors log in the same directory, so if there is no knocking on the door i believe the sender party must start an investigation.

Cheers

Has the sender been able to report any sort of error they're getting?
