Excel 2010, Error 1907, can't install font
When a machine starts Excel, they get an error each time that says Error 1907 Could not register font. Verify that you have permissions to install the font.
I can't get any other information about this other than there are registry areas that I don't have access to and I can't change the permissions to allow me to install this patch.
I have uninstalled updates
I have repaired the office 2010 installation
I have removed the latest excel patch but that didn't help
I have cleaned temp files
I have removed unnecessary registry items using CCleaner.
I have installed the excel patch again and am rebooting.
The excel patch for office 2010 installed on 4/17
The end user starting the issue
Right now, when I go into the event logs, I see issues there such as the following
The machiine is running Windows 7 x64 Pro
has 24GB of RAM
1TB HDD
All temp files have been cleared up.
There was some sort of Skype issue in the event logs yesterday. Something about not being able to remove the program or can't find the installation source files.
I tried reinstalling then removing but that didn't help.
Rebooted after running all available updates
Reinstalled Excel 2010 patch from yesterday.
No difference
If I launch Outlook, no error
If I launch Word, no error
If I launch Excel, I get Font installation error 1907 Could not register font.
This of course appears to have to do with registry permissions.
Example of registry errors:
Product: Microsoft Office Single Image 2010. The application tried to modify a protected Windows registry key \Software\Classes\TypeLib\ {56D04F5D- 964F-4DBF- 8D23-B9798 9E53418}\1 .5\HELPDIR .

there are about 100 of these each time the excel is opened. I have tried to give permissions to the domain user but this doesn't help.
Reload looks like only option.

If you login using a user with administrator rights and launch Excel, do you still get the error?
