What is model / make is the physical hardware? Do you happen to know what the base controller is that the SSD 's are plugged into?

hi @andyalder thank you so much for this.
one more question i want to ask and that is:
if i am using hp prolaint servers
and ssds and hdds of different vendor or partner which are present in the vsan compatibility guide for a hybrid setup. is it safe to use them? also which endurance class and performance is good if it is a four node cluster . as per my thinking c or d in endurance and e in performance or we can settle for less.
please correct me if i am wrong.

I didn't think there were any HDDs and SSDs in the vSAN compatibility guide, isn't it a case that the server is certified so disks and SSDs supplied by the server vendor as compatible with the server were automatically certified as compatible with VMware?

actually what i did was i extracted the harware detail from esxi host through ssh. there it was mentioned about the model number and vendor. then i copied that model number and paste that in vsan copatibility guide and i was able to see that model number.
where as it didnt happened with other ssd when i did same. so thats why i am confused with what to choose and what not to choose.
is there any straight way to see and choose the best compatible ssd for a vsan cluster

What exact text did you extract for that so I can try it for myself.

esxcfg-scsidevs -l | egrep -i 'display name|vendor'
i execute this command
then i got a list of hdds n ssds i have in my host.
i copied the model number from there and paste it in keyword section in vsan compatibility list.
in my case i selected hdd because i copied the model number of hdd .
we have 3 options there io controller, hdd and ssd and thats how i got the result.
here the link:
http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?deviceCategory=ssd&details=1&vsan_type=vsanssd&ssd_partner=46&vsanrncomp=true&page=1&display_interval=500&sortColumn=Partner&sortOrder=Asc&bookmark=1.
one more question
is there any command to check if my disk controller is pass through configured or raid zero configured for vsan.
tho vmsupport already told me that it is raid 0 configured and they know more than me. i still want to know how to check on esxi 6.0 u2 if it is raid 0 configured
shall be thank full.

What was the result of running that command? Could you run it again and copy the model number from there and paste it into this thread.

sorry but i am not allowed to share the details of the hardware. but what i can tell you is it gives the details of hdd and ssd devices
including the model number revis id and vendor name from which we can copy the model number and can check if it is in compatibility list or not. and i have checked that.
# esxcfg-scsidevs -l | egrep -i 'display name|vendor'
You see output similar to:
Display Name: Local ServeRA Disk (mpx.vmhba0:C0:T0:L0)
Vendor: ServeRA Model: 8k-l Mirror Revis: V1.0
what i am trying to find right now is how to check if my io disk controller is raid 0 or pass through configured.
although gss team already said that it is raid 0 configured and i have to update the drivers and firm ware.
but i wonder how to check that. is there any command for that if yes what it is . because i dont iLO configured on my client setup.
