Computer Stuck / Freezes for a couple of seconds
Every random time the computer freezes like chrome will get no responding and then releases, if I use Photoshop it happens as well.
I removed Chrome and re-installed. I checked for malware and viruses , I closed all applications.
and still.
any suggestions ?
(windows 10)

Open Task Manager, and look at CPU usage and HDD usage. Look at Disk Active time and response time. Alot of times the drive is working too hard to keep up. Try defragging and running CCleaner. After that run a "CHKDSK /r" with admin rights.

Nothing that should attract my attention on the task bar.

Do NOT defrag the SSD. What brand SSD? Alot of companies have utilities for their SSD drives. I would download that if you haven't already.

Samsung
run sfc /scannow
and check any errors
also run memory test

Best SSD brand out there. Download Magician and run the program. I have seen alot of Samsung drives have an issue with Intel chipsets, and require a driver update. That driver wasn't always available from manufacturer website. Usually the latest Magician software will inform you of this and the website to download from.
In your case it might be a bigger problem, as I have had a couple of Samsung drives fail under warranty that would slow down intermittently and until the SMART logs started showing problems, I was always running into dead ends. After replacing the drive (Cloned), my problems were long gone. Not saying that is the case for you, but keep it in the back of your head.

The magician will show that?
What is the model no of the SSD?
Computer spec.. CPU / RAM?

At bottom left, click on System Compatibility.
Chrome (if you open multiple tabs) and Photoshop can be CPU / RAM resources intensive and the PC will freeze if it runs out of resources but it will fix on its own.
ASKER
There is no reported compatibility issue
You can run the resource monitor and you will know how much resources have been consumed by which apps.
Freeze and non responding is the default behaviour when you has run out of resources.

Everything is fine.
Nothing is using too much of the resources.

Most users are multi-tasking most of the time and when memory management has a problem, the computer will freeze.

Have you tried to start the computer in safe mode or run a memory diagnostic test?
Samsung EVO 850 us slow on 4K read when compared to Transcend SSD370s.

Depends on the workload. Standard windows and application stuff is mostly dominated by read, and the mostly dominated by 4k reads. In these workloads they make up about 60% of the total workload for the drive. Its this particular performance advantage in SSDs to HDDs that makes them feel so different, not the doubling of sustained transfer which most drives are advertised on.

My wild guess is that your computer will also freeze even on opening small files.

I don't where you got this. but my computer was fine, up until recently that this start happening.
Also This is one of the most sold SSD's , so I think people would comment / say and Samsung would address the issue, if that was the case.

What does the Magician performance test show? What do you see in SMART?
The most SOLD is not equal to the BEST.

We use 90% Samsung SSD in deployment. Either EVO or Pro versions. As I stated, I have seen some failures but still our favorite drive in all regards.
How about Task Manager and open handles (Under CPU tab)?

Did Magician check for firmware upgrade? After you look go back again later. Sometimes it shows current first time, and then an update is available when you go back. I recommend installing the firmware if available.

We have Transcend SSD370s for both Windows 7 and Windows 10.
Actually, freezing is common when lots of tasks are running concurrently. But it is dependent on how many open tasks.
Besides, it is common for any web browser to freeze if the website HTML code, JavaScript cannot be fully compatibile with the web browser.

Microsoft does not recommend the use of CCleaner as it will create more problems than it will fix.
Have never heard that about CCleaner, as it is one of the most recommended piece of software in the IT world. Make sure you do the backup it provides before removing any registry entries. I wouldn't run it on a server, but run it every single workstation we support. Probably the most important software for us currently.

Yes, I am aware that one person said that, in 2012. He did not speak for all of Microsoft, and he kindly said don't use it. Alonig1 is free to decide what he will or won't do in regards to CCleaner. Most of those types of programs are just gimmics and have no real value.
test if it happens in safe mode also
