Azpen a1048 tablet appears to be a "soft brick" after flashing.

We have 2 Azpen a1048 tablets that were recently purchased from a local retailer. When attempts were made to install needed applications there were errors that would occur after install saying "Root Detected". A call to Azpen support concluded that the tablets needed to be "flashed", however they were sure to mention that doing so would void the warranty even though they provided the image.

Thank fully we only flashed 1 of the tablets which can be recognized via USB, but since the flashed image was applied NOTHING appears on the screen when it is powered on. The power button was held in for minutes and left charging overnight - still nothing appears on screen. Not even the Android robot. We cannot get this item to display anything, but we can see the storage via Windows Explorer.

We have tried 2 compatible Allwinner tools, both which say flashing 100% complete, but the tablet fails to display anything on screen. It's disappointing that Azpen would conclude flashing was needed and then say it's not supported. I'm hoping somebody has an idea before we throw this tablet away.

Any advice will be most appreciated. Thx

Have you made a checksum check for the image of the new ROM downloaded?

It is a very tough question even for the experts and only having inputs via this question will not help.

You need to create a Gig project and give some incentive as your task is a time consuming exercise.

All they have available is a .img file. Nothing else and Azpen does not provide further support for flashing. They did send me a link to a separate image download which was also applied and according to Phoenix PC utility was 100% complete. But the problem continues and there is no MD5 file avaialble.
In such case, it will be difficult to troubleshoot.

Can you ask Azpen to do a MD5 checksum at their side first?

I would, but I've already exhausted their support. Maybe I'll just throw this thing away. Thanks for your help, but maybe the image is just toast.
