Strange router problem - can't access hotmail.com

I have a wired/wireless router I got from Verizon. Actiontec GT784WNV. had it for a couple years.
Today --perhaps due to a Java upgrade-- I can't get to Hotmail.
I tried my iphone using my wireless wifi and I can't access Hotmail but every other site yes
I tried my desktop using wired RJ45, and I can't access Hotmail but every other site yes.
I tried my iphone using my neighbor's wifi and I CAN get Hotmail.
I can access everything else I try --- at least so far-- but not Hotmail.
What can I do to remedy this? I'm thinking start with a factory reset of the router. BUT... .  I don't remember the router password or how to configure it after I do a "factory reset"  can someone help me with this?

And if the above does not work, then a hard reset of the router should fix the issue.
I don't think that the Actiontec has all that much in the way of settings.... The idea of it being able to be set to block a URL is (I think) beyond its capabilities.
hotmail.com will redirect to outlook.live.com
The better question is exactly what comes up when trying to access hotmail.com?
Before I'd reset to factory defaults, I'd want to make sure that I knew the settings for the WAN side.  This is an ADSL modem/router and you may well have settings to make the connection to the ISP.
Default login info is... username: admin, password: password

Resetting the router should be the last thing to try.  Everything else works so if there's not much to configure on the router I'd look at DNS.

Speak to your ISP to make sure there's not a known DNS issue, etc.

These tests eliminated the possibility that Java update could be the root cause.

As others have mentioned, resetting your router is easy but you need to now all the settings to reconfigure it.

After you have gone through the trouble of resetting and reconfiguring the router, save a backup of it (usually a text, conf or XML file) for future

Thanks to all.
I powered everything, EVERYTHING down on my technology side for 10 minutes.
ALSO, I replaced the RJ-11 cable from the router to my wall jack.  It was frayed in the middle due to office chairs rolling over it.  This may also be a factor.
Glad you did at least find something. However, keep checking into things. While a frayed cable could cause issues, it shouldn't cause issues for exactly one site. Good luck.
